Graveside services for Samuel David Arnold, 66, of Gilbertown, Ala., will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from Kaiser Hill Cemetery in Melvin, Ala., with Brother Leslie Powe officiating.

Born on April 24, 1955, he worked as a Logger.

He died on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at his residence.

He is survived by three sisters and a brother-in-law, Betty Jones, Yvonne and Allen Nicholson and Ola M. Jones; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Jerry Arnold, Gregory and Nicole Arnold and J.D. Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

June 6, 1947-March 21, 2022

Funeral services for Andy Bryant Evans, 74, of Waynesboro, will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 25, 2022 from West Shady Grove Baptist Church, with Dr. Stephen Smith and Rev. Mike Street officiating. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from West Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Following the funeral service, interment will take place at Serenity Gardens Cemetery.

Born in Quitman on Friday, June 6, 1947 to V.C. Evans and Helen Evans, he was a member of West Shady Grove Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon Emeritus. He worked as a Teacher and Coach for the Wayne County School District for more than 35 years and finished coaching track at Wayne Academy last year at the age of 74.

He graduated from Waynesboro Central High School in 1965. He and his classmates remained close throughout the years. After graduation, he attended the University of Southern Mississippi, where he earned a Bachelor's degree and was a loyal USM Alumni and supporter.

Andy was so many things to so many people but most of all he was a man of God. He loved his Lord, his family and his church. He was a fisherman, hunter, coach, teacher and mentor. He was a husband, father, Paw Paw, brother, son and so much more.

He attacked everything he did with all his ability. He is loved by so many and was welcomed into Heaven by his beloved grandson, Aidan, his mother, twin brother and father but, most importantly, by his Lord Jesus Christ.

He died on Monday, March 21, 2022 doing what he loved --- fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Vannette Evans of Waynesboro; his daughter and son-in-law, Tara and Lee Smith of Hattiesburg; his son and daughter-in-law, John and Naomi Atkinson of Clara; his sister, Rachel Stanley of Waynesboro; and his granddaughter, Masie Atkinson of Clara.

He was preceded in death by his father, V.C. Evans; his mother, Helen Evans; his twin brother, Randy Evans; and his grandson, Aidan Atkinson.
