FREE CONTENT — Two arrested; drugs, weapons, cash seized

Two people are facing various charges after officials seized more than 
four pounds of marijuana, weapons and cash on Wednesday morning.
Around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, agents with the Narcotics Divisions of the 
Wayne County Sheriff's Department and Waynesboro Police Department 
served a search warrant on a residence at 955 Glitter Ln. in Waynesboro.
One of the residents at the location — Rashado Q. Gaines, 36 — was 
arrested and charged with trafficking marijuana while in possession of a 
firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and unlawful sale 
of marijuana. He was booked into the Wayne County Adult Detention 
Center.
Also arrested was Darinique Nicholson, 29, of 226 Prosperity St. in 
Shubuta. She was arrested and charged with trafficking marijuana while 
in possession of a firearm. She was also booked into the Wayne County 
Adult Detention Center.
Both suspects made their initial appearances before Justice Court Judge Ralph Smith on Thursday. Bond for Gaines was set at $528,000 while Nicholson was given a $500,000 bond.
The search warrant resulted in the seizure of approximately four pounds 
of marijuana, three firearms and several thousands dollars in cash.
Assisting with the operation were the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics 
and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
