Community asked for help with missing Veteran's Photos

June 20, 2026

The Wayne County News is looking for some assistance to complete its
America 250 Section publishing on June 2.
While putting together the Veteran's Spread that is the main part of the
section, it was discovered that some photos that were known to be
brought in were either not scanned in properly or were lost in the
computers.
"This is a simple mistake that can easily be corrected with help from
the public," said Publisher Paul Keane. "Sometimes, files get corrupted
or accidentally deleted, and we apologize for this inconvenience.
"If the family members or Veterans themselves will reach out and provide
us with a photo, we will be more than happy to scan it in and make sure
it does not get 'eaten' again."
Photos of Veterans needed are as follows:
Robert Louis Arrington
James R. Davis
William Ray Henderson
Watson Nored
T.J. Pitts
Paul Shoemaker
Jerry W. Taylor
In addition, Keane is asking for a little more information such as
branch of service, rank and years of service for Edward Foster.
The search for the unknown Veteran is also continuing. There was no name
attached to the information that was submitted. The handwritten
information — which is being updated and corrected here — states:
"Dates 10/43-02/46. Rank-Corporal. Military Speciality Truck Driver.
Offenses: Okinawa, Ryuku Islands,, Occupation of China. Medals Good
Conduct, Honorable Service Lapel Pin."
Keane said he hopes that someone will come forward and provide the name
of the Veteran.
"We don't want to miss the chance to recognize this Veteran," he said.
"Unfortunately, if we can't get the name, the photo will run without the
name and information."
Photos and information can be dropped off at 716 South St., by calling
the office at 601-735-4341 or emailing Keane at
