Threat of ice closes public schools Monday

After consulting with Wayne County Emergency Management, the Wayne County School District announced that schools will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26.

The threat of moisture from Sunday’s rains freezing, along with a concern about “black ice” Monday morning, prompted the decision.

At around noon Monday, a decision will be made on if schools will be open on Tuesday as weather conditions warrant.
