Five people were wounded — including one seriously — after a Sunday
night shooting near the corner of Turner and Gray Streets.
According to Waynesboro Police Chief Holt Ross, the shooting occurred
around 10 p.m. Sunday. Numerous shots were fired at a group of people
standing in front of a dwelling.
At least five people were injured with gunshot wounds, including one
victim that was airlifted to a facility in Jackson.
Investigators continued working the scene Monday morning, and no
suspects have been identified yet.
Ross said he could not comment further as this is an ongoing
investigation.
"We are asking for anyone with any information whatsoever — even the
smallest bit of information — to please come forward and provide us
with that information," Ross said. "We need you to come forward in order
to help us solve this case."
Anyone with information is asked to contact WPD at 601-735-3129.
