Both Wayne County High School and Wayne Academy came away with victories Friday night.

The War Eagles opened District 4-5A action at home, beating the Hornets of East Central, 19-7.

The Jaguars hosted CHEF of Baton Rouge and rolled past the Patriots, 35-6.
