HOWARD GLENN LOPER

Funeral services for Howard Glenn Loper, 72, were conducted on Tuesday,

March 26, 2024 from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with Pastor Scott

Hilton officiating.

Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Born on June 18, 1951, he was a firefighter with the City of Laurel Fire

Department and retired as Captain after a long career. He enjoyed

hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He

especially enjoyed his grandchildren and was fondly known as "Pawpaw" to

everyone.

A member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, he died on Friday, March 22,

2024 at Wayne General Hospital.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Brenda Loper; his daughter and

son-in-law, Christy and Keith Brewer; his son and daughter, Joshua and

Jennifer Loper; his grandchildren, Dakota Brewer, Tori Brewer, Jason

Loper, Harley Loper and Emma Lott Loper; his sister and brother-in-law,

Sherry and Dale Bilbo; his brother-in-law, Tony Wedgeworth; his nieces

and their spouses, Wendy and Scott Hilton, Melissa and Scott Overland

and Kaily Williams; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Howard L. Loper; his mother,

Bonnie Faye Loper Malone; and his daughter, Tara Leigh Loper.

Pallbearers were the Deacons of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Interment followed at First Missionary Baptist Church in Moss Point.

Born on Aug. 3, 1935, he was a Former and Painter with VT Halter Marine.

He died on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at his residence.

He is survived by his wife, Linda F. Moye-Harris; his sons and

daughters-in-law, Jason Scott of Biloxi, Willie Scott, Sr., of Virginia

Beach, Va., Sidney Dortch, Sr., of Lucedale, David and Wanda Harris of

Moss Point, James C. Anderson and Jermaine and Candance Anderson of

Atlanta, Ga., and Mike and Amy Anderson of Missoula, Mont.; his

daughters and sons-in-law, DeNeise Simmons and Teadra Scott, both of

Biloxi, Brenda Harris of Gautier, Evelyn McClain of Moss Point and

Tereasa and Delta Riley of Newport News, Va.; his brothers, Tyree Harris

of Moss Point and Charlie Williams of McComb; his sisters and

brothers-in-law, Mary and Ernest Marlone and Linda and Richard Young,

all of Moss Point, Joyce and Stefon Ross of Pasadena, Calif., and Alma

Harris of Greenville; 53 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a sister, a son,

a grandson, his parents-in-law, a brother-in-law and three

sisters-in-law.

Born in Chicora on Friday, March 13, 1942 to Ed Jones and Willie L.

Jones, he was a member of Chicora Baptist Church. He worked for TEI

Construction Company.

He died on Monday, March 18, 2024 at Providence Hospital in Mobile, Ala.

He is survived by his wife, Louella Jones of Buckatunna; his daughter

and son-in-law, Beverly and Mark Payne of Huntsville, Ala.; two brothers

and a sister-in-law, Grant Jones of Sallis, Miss., and Billy Joe and

Barbara Jones of Chicora; two sisters, Etta Lee Gordon of Waynesboro and

Cecile Walley of Clara; four grandchildren and their respective spouses,

Jamie and Lea Ann Jones, Alex and Brooke Jones, Elizabeth Payne and

Katelyn Payne; five great-grandchildren and their respective spouses,

Morgan and Hunter Philyaw, Madison and Dalton Hare, Conner Jones, Mylee

Jones and Jett Jones; and two great-great-grandchildren, Paisleigh

Waynesboro; two daughters, Gloria Turner of Mobile, Ala., and Maggie Coy

of Fairhope, Ala.; two sisters, Andrea Turner and Antoinette Heath, both

of Waynesboro; her aunt and uncle, Darlene and Sam Cochran of

Waynesboro; her uncle, Drew Douglas of Waynesboro; and several aunts,

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Tracy and Michael

West and Shelley Thornton, all of Waynesboro; two brothers, George

Reynolds of Centerville, Texas and Tommy Reynolds of Alvin, Texas; four

grandchildren, Josh Pevehouse, Meagan Vanderpool, Mandy Thornton and

Bridgette Sears; seven great-grandchildren, Josh Pevehouse, Wyatt
