Bond denied for capital murder suspect

Justice Court Judge Charles Chapman on Wednesday denied bond for a man charged with capital murder in a June 1 incident in Buckatunna.

Keandra Tashawn Hill, 18, has been charged in the June 1 death of Leon Hill. Authorities said indications are the two men were related. The suspect was 17 at the time of the incident but is being charged as an adult.

The body of Leon Hill was found at his residence on Hill Drive just off West Robinson Junction Road on June 1. Investigators have been working the case since then and were able to make an arrest this week.

Keandra Hill made his initial appearance Wednesday morning, with Judge Chapman denying bond in the case. The suspect remains in the Wayne County Adult Detention Center.

Sheriff Jerry “Juice” Mosley said the case remains under investigation.
