REGINALD LEE "REGGIE" DUNN
Sept. 21, 1940-June 27, 2026
Services for Mr. Reginald Lee "Reggie" Dunn, 85, of Waynesboro will
be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Jones & Son Chapel in
Richton. Reginald left this world peacefully and into the glorious
presence of Christ on June 27, 2026, at Pine View Health and
Rehabilitation Center in Waynesboro.  Bro. Ronald Stanley will
officiate the service and burial will follow in Seminary Baptist Church
Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Dunn and James
Baldwin.
Reginald was born on Sept. 21, 1940, in Alabama, the son of Cecil and
Susie Dunn. He grew up in Riverview, Ala. and Clara, where he developed
a deep love for his family. After graduating from Clara High School and
Mississippi State University, he married his college sweetheart, Evelyn
Doss, and they moved to Saint Louis, Mo., where he went on to pursue a
teaching career.  He and Evelyn had triplet girls, Angela, Susan, and
Marie, and a son, Michael. Reginald was a devoted father who was always
there to offer love and support to his family. He was an avid history
buff and brought many unique historical facts to light to those around
him. He enjoyed working with the Boy Scouts and his dry sense of humor
was a joy to all.
Reginald was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Dunn; his
second wife, Clarice Dunn; mother, Susie Hinton; father, Cecil Dunn; and
stepfather, Thomas Hinton.
He is survived by his children, Angela (Jonathan) Baldwin of Laurel,

Ariz.,  and Michael Dunn of Phoenix, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; four
great grandchildren; brothers, David (Linda) Hinton and Todd Hinton,
both of Clara; and many other family, friends and acquaintances who will
miss him dearly.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Ray Henderson,
Reginald's roommate at Pine View. Ray was always looking out for him,
calling for assistance when needed, taking him outside to eat and enjoy
the fresh air and showing exceptional kindness. Ray's generous support
was greatly appreciated by the entire family.

ANNETTE JONES THOMAS
Aug. 20, 1938-June 19, 2026
Funeral services for Annette Jones Thomas, 87, of Shubuta, were
conducted on Wednesday, July 1 from Shady Grove First Baptist Church in
Heidelberg, with Rev. Stanley Doggett and Rev. Stanley Downs
officiating.
Internment followed at Shady Grove First Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born on Aug. 20, 1938 to Emily (Heathcock) and Charles Jones in Wayne
County, she graduated from Central High School in Waynesboro in 1956. In
high school, besides her studies, she played basketball and was chosen
to play the lead in both her junior and senior year plays. She continued
her education as Jones County Junior College, where she pursued studies
in Secretarial Science.
She began her career working at a local appliance store before becoming
a Dispatcher with Miller Transport. She later found her calling in
banking — starting as a Teller at Heidelberg Bank and, through
dedication and hard work, rising to the position of Assistance Vice
President at the Bank of Shubuta, which later became part of BankPlus.
Annette and James Thomas were married on Aug. 31, 1957 in Marietta, Ga.
They first met at a weekly Friday night square dance in Quitman, where
James was a college student and Annette was a high school senior. What
began as a chance encounter grew into a devoted partnership and loving
marriage that spanned 48 years, ending only with James's death in
2005.
Annette was a woman of unwavering faith and a devoted member of Shady
Grove First Baptist Church in Heidelberg. She faithfully served her
church for many years as Treasurer and was always willing to lend a
helping hand — whether visiting those in need, preparing meals for the
sick or grieving or supporting church events. Her Christian faith guided
her life and was evident in her kindness, generosity and the grace with
which she treated other.
She loved her family beyond measure and devoted her life to caring for
them. Annette was known for her strong work ethic and selfless spirit.
After long days at the bank, she would help at the grocery store she and
James owned, then return home to prepare a home-cooked Southern meal for
her family. She possessed a genuine ability to bring out the bet in
others, offering encouragement, understanding and unwavering support.
Her compassionate and generous spirit touched countless lives.
Annette found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved country music
and dancing, gardening in the summer and canning jams, jellies and
pickles. She was a wonderful Southern cook, and her cornbread dressing,
fried chicken and fried okra were favorites among all who knew her.
She will be remembered for her loving heart, her steadfast faith and her
life of service to others. Her legacy of kindness and devotion will live
on in all who knew and loved her. One of Annette's favorite passes of
Scripture was Psalm 23, from which she drew comfort and strength
throughout her life"
"The Lord is my shepherd: I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down
in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth
my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's
sake.Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I
will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they
comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine
enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely
goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will
dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
A beloved mother, grandmother and friend, she died peacefully on Friday,
June 19, 2026.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Emily Thomas and Jim
Cooper and Joy Thomas and Kirk Hughes; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Wells
Thomas; seven grandchildren and their respective spouses, Berry Allen
and Mary-Ryan Thomas, Courtney Thomas and Chad Harris, Christie Thomas
and Jonathan Phillips, Thomas Penman and Molly Cooper, Edward Reid
Cooper, Darby Hughes and Joel Whitney and Tyler Beasley Hughes; and
eight grandchildren, James Thomas, Madalynn Thomas, Collin Harris,
Michael Phillips, Kayden Phillips, Avary Phillips, Iris Mae Cooper and
Hugh Ellis.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Jones; her mother,
Emily Heathcock Jones; her husband, James Allen Thomas; her son, Gregory
Allen Thomas; and her sister, Barbara Jones Mosley.
The family welcomes contributions to the Shady Grove First Baptist
