MARY A. LACEY

June 14, 1960-April 23, 2026

Funeral services for Mary A. Lacey, 65, of Waynesboro, were conducted on 
Saturday, May 2, 2026 from Pineville Baptist Church, with Rev. Donta 
Chambers officiating.

Interment followed at Pineville Cemetery.

Born on June 14, 1960, she died on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Forrest 
General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

She is survived by her son, Tyrone Lacey; special friend, La'Shae 
Chapman; her siblings and their respective spouses, Bertha Mae Lacey and 
Herman and Denise McLaughlin; her grandchildren, Tyiron Lacey, Antwan 
Ellis and Tyriona Lacey; her aunts, Julie M. Lawson and Ceola Dawkins; 
and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

She was preceded in death by Ethel M. McDougle, Alice R. McDougle, 
Elverda Chambers, George S. Lacey, Albert Lacey and Adam Lacey.

McDonald and Sons Funeral Home of Waynesboro was in charge of 
arrangements.

Graveside services for Herbert L. "Pete" Knight, Jr., 74, of Waynesboro 
were conducted on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 from Maynor Ceek Cemetery in 
Waynesboro, with Rev. Rickey Williams officiating.

Born in Waynesboro on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 1951 to the late Herbert Hoover 
Knight, Sr., and Edna Earl Knight, he retired as a Truck Driver with 
Cliff Walker Trailer Sales.

He died on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Wayne General Hospital in 
Waynesboro.

He is survived by his son, Mark Knight of Ellisville; his daughter and 
son-in-law, Maria and Johnnie Paul Palmer of Waynesboro; and a host of 
nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Hoover Knight, Sr., and 
Edna Earl Knight; his brother, Billy Knight, Sr.; and two sisters, 
Dorothy Street and Debra Ann Knight.
