Funeral services for Calvin C. Harris, 96, of Waynesboro, will be at 2
p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral
Home, with Rev. Ryan Powers and Rev. Bruce Cooley officiating.
Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025 from the
Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home.

Born on Thursday, Nov. 8, 1928 to the late George Carter, Sr., and
Zettie Kirkland Carter, he attended Little Rock Assembly of God.

He died on Monday, Sept. 8, 2025 at Comfort Care Nursing Center in
Laurel.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Nancy Elizabeth Harris;
his children and their respective spouses, Griffen Earl Harris, Sr.,
George Wesley Harris, Thomas Steven and Cheryl Harris, Sr. and Linda
White; his stepchildren and their respective spouses, Shirley Jones,
Curtis Lassiter, Nancy Lassiter, Vickie and David Hopkins and Loree and
Eddie Lovell; 24 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren,
great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and his siblings and
their respective spouses, George Carter, Jr., Alberta Henderosn and
Griffen and Brenda Carter.
