EDWARD J. "EDDIE" LOMBAS
Jan. 21, 1950-Aug. 31, 2025
Funeral services for Edward J. "Eddie" Lombas, 75, of Waynesboro, will 
be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025 from the Chapel of Freeman 
Funeral Home, with Rev. Charles Allbrooks officiating. Visitation will 
be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, 2025 from the Parlor of Freeman 
Funeral Home.
Following the funeral service, interment will take place at Boykin 
Cemetery in Wayne County.
Born in New Orleans, La., on Saturday, Jan. 21, 1950 to the late Armond 
J. Lombas, Sr., and Lillian Sadie Lombas, he retired as a Television 
Repairman with Dixie Jet Electronics.
He died on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025 at Forrest General Hospital in 
Hattiesburg.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Rosalyn "Roz" DeMoll 
Lombas of Waynesboro; two daughters and sons-in-law, Bridget and Lanny 
Evans of Violet, La., and Jennifer and Andy Laine of Prairieville, La.; 
nine grandchildren and their respective spouses, Stephanie and Blake 
Anderson, Melody and Danny Asevedo, Zachary Adams, Nicholas Adams, Logan 
Laine, Victoria Lane, Matthe Evans, Blake Evans and Jace Evans; and five 
great-grandchildren, Elliott, Kinslei, Phoenix, Rylee and Ashton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Armond J. Lombas, Sr., and 
Lillian Sadie Lombas; and his brother, Armond J. Lombas, Jr.

May 11, 1966-Aug. 26, 2025
A private memorial service for Rita Mills, 59, of Waynesboro, will be 
conducted at a later date to honor her life and memory.
Born in Bay Springs on May 11, 1966 to the late Robert Fulton Sims and 
Jackie Thompson, she was dedicated to caring for others, working as a 
Home Health Caregiver with Southern Grace.
She died peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025 at her residence.
She is survived by her loving husband, Raymond Creel Mills; her son, 
Marshall Stanley; her daughter and son-in-law, Amberlynn and Tyler 
Roberts; two sisters, Betty Sue Corey and Linda Odom; three cherished 
grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Fulton Sims and Jackie 
Thompson.

Funeral services for Bridget Necole Shanks, 42, of Waynesboro, were 
conducted on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025 from the Chapel of Turner Funeral 
Home.
Interment followed at Winchester Church of God in Christ Cemetery.
Born on Dec. 20, 1982, she was a Homemaker.
She died on Friday, Aug. 15, 2025 at her residence.
She is survived by her daughters, Kenziya Shanks and Edlicia Shanks; her 
brothers, Steve Jones and Marcus Evans; her sister, Edlisha Whitfield; 
her mother, Jewelean Shanks; her grandmother, Theola Evans; and two 
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, her maternal grandfather and

Born on Feb. 15, 1949, she was retired from Wayne Farms.
She died on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025 at her residence.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, William Evans and Eric 
and Laquita Rhodes of Waynesboro; her daughter and son-in-law, Catina 
and Charles Lacey of Waynesboro; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert 
and Dorothy Henry and R.V. and the late Evon Henry of Waynesboro; her 
sisters, Earlie Gray and Mattiew Bishop of Waynesboro; and nine 
grandchildren.
