Funeral services for William E. "Bill" Walker, 83, of Waynesboro, were
conducted on Sunday, July 6, 2025 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral
Home, with Rev. DeJuan Walley and Dr. Steve Smith officiating.

Interment followed at Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Waynesboro.
Born in Waynesboro on Monday, Sept. 1, 1941 to the late Hilton Walker,
Sr., and Silas Ida Walker Bailey, he served in the United States Army
National Guard. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesboro.

A long-time businessman, he retired as a Co-Owner of Walker Motors, was

He died on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at his residence.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Cecelia Walker of
Waynesboro; his daughter, Deena Denise Lamke of Hattiesburg; his sons
and daughter-in-law, James Davis and Angela Walker of Collinsville and
Hilton Walker, Jr., of Waynesboro; two grandchildren, Jonathan Chase
Walker of Chicago, Ill., and Lauren Leigh Lamke of Hattiesburg; his
brother- and sister-in-law, Mike and Elaine Ellis of Waynesboro; six
nieces and nephews and their respective spouses, Tresa Walker, Melissa
and Tony Bowen, Katie Ellis, Chris and Rachel Evans, Michael Ellis and
Brayden Ellis; his great-nephews, Cole Evans and Peyton Walker; and his
great-niece, Betsy Bowen Hudson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Silas Ida Walker Bailey and
Hilton Walker, Sr.; his stepfather, Jim Bailey; and his nephew, Ronnie
Walker.
