EMERAIL D. JONES
May 24, 1965-Dec. 17, 2024
Funeral services for Emerail D. Jones, 59, of Waynesboro, were conducted 
on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2024 from New Jordan Missionary Baptist Church, with 
Rev. Alfred James officiating.
Interment followed at New Jordan Church Cemetery.
Born on May 24, 1965, he died on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024 at Forrest 
General Hospital in Hattiesburg.
He is survived by three daughters, Shanin D. Jones, Tiffany Hentley and 
Helena Hill; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Mack Jones, Willie 
Jones and Bill and Glenda Jones; two sisters, Betty Powe and Mary Jones; 
six grandchildren, Marlasiah Hentley, Brandon Loper, Jr., Malachi 
McShepard, and Malik, Kileigh and Princeton Hentley; and a host of 
nieces, nephew and other family and friends.
McDonald and Sons Funeral Home of Waynesboro was in charge of 
arrangements.
JERRY ALLEN HOLIFIELD
July 14, 1953-Dec. 22, 2024
Funeral services for Jerry Allen Holifield, 71, of Laurel, were 
conducted on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral 
Home, with Rev. Glenn Sullivan officiating.
Interment followed at Waynesboro Cemetery.
Born in Waynesboro on Tuesday, July 14, 1953 to the late Charlie James 
Holifield and Pauline Kay Holifield, he retired as a Self-Employed Truck 
Driver.
He died on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024 at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg.
He is survived by three sons, Kris Holifield of Soso and Jeremy McIlwain 
and Mitchell Hartley, both of Waynesboro; four daughters, Tanya Lanell 
Sullivan of Carthage, Kayla Holifield of Grand Bay, Ala., Paige Runnels 
and Katlyn McIlwain, both of Waynesboro; four brothers, Charles 
Holifield of Baton Rouge, La., Benny Holifield, Roger Holified and Ricky 
Holifield, all of Waynesboro; two sisters, Pat Odom and Lavern Hudson, 
both of Waynesboro; a special niece, Kristy; and a host of 
grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie James Holifield and 
Pauline Kay Holifield; his son, Eric Holifield; his brother, Wayne 
Holifield; and three sisters, Sarah Jean Holland, Charlene Rowells and 
Sandra Rowland.
