PUBLIC NOTICE REGARDING ORDINANCE #WS-310-24
Pursuant to Section 21-17-9, Mississippi Code of 1972 (Annotated), 
notice is hereby given that the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City 
of Waynesboro, Mississippi, did on December 3, 2024, adopt Ordinance 
#WS-310-24 entitled "ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE 
CITY OF WAYNESBORO, MISSISSIPPI, ADOPTING ADMINISTRATIVE HEARING PROCESS 
TO DISPUTE WATER.SEWER BILL."
If full payment of a customer's water/sewer bill is not received by the 
due date, the account shall be delinquent and a late fee will be added 
to the customer's bill. If a customer's water/sewer bill is not paid in 
full by the 20th day of the month, water service will be disconnected 
without any further notice. If a customer disputes the accuracy or 
validity of a water/sewer bill, the customer may request an informal 
administrative hearing. In order to avoid a disconnection of water 
services, a request for an administrative hearing must be received by 
the City Clerk no later than 4:30 p.m. on the 20th day of the month in 
which the bill is due. A request for an informal administrative hearing 
shall be in writing and include the following: (1) name, address and 
telephone number of customer, (2) a statement of the amount in dispute, 
(3) the reason and/or basis for the customer's dispute, and (4) a 
request for a hearing.
