Funeral services for Veronica Shanks, 73, of Waynesboro, were conducted 
on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024 from Winchester Church of God in Christ, with 
Elder George Fairley officiating.
Interment followed at the church cemetery.
Born on April 4, 1951, she was a retired Cafeteria Manager with the 
Wayne County School District. She was also a member of the 84 Committee.
She died on Friday, Nov. 29, 2024 at Forrest General Hospital in 
Hattiesburg.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffery and Pam Shanks 
and Maurice and Lakita Shanks; two daughters, Crystal Shanks and 
Lashonda Shanks; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe W. and Eloise 
Shanks and Gary and Amanda Shanks; her sister, Eileon White; 12 
grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.

ANTONIA RANSOM

Funeral services for Antonia Ransom, 58, of Shubuta, were conducted on 
Saturday, Nov. 30 from Mt. Levy U.M. Church in Matherville, with Rev. 
Russell Coleman, Sr., and Rev. Dr. Marjorie Walker officiating.
Interment followed at the church cemetery.
Born on Jan. 2, 1966, he was a Carpenter.
He died on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024 at Forrest General Hospital in 
Hattiesburg.
He is survived by his sons, Antonia Ransom, Jr., of Miami, Fla., and 
Eric D. Ransom and Derek Ransom, both of Waynesboro; a stepson, Malik 
Tolliver of Beaumont; his daughters, Tonchelle Ransom of Miami and 
Amarie Ransom of Beaumont; his brother, Eric Ransom of Miami; his 
sister, Linda Ransom-Wright of Miami; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild.
