Friday drive-by shooting wounds two

Agents with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigations and troopers with the Highway patrol are investigating a Friday night drive-by shooting that left two people wounded.

According to Wayne County Sheriff Jerry “Juice” Mosley, the shooting happened on Highway 84 near the Whistler community. Based on E-911 alerts, it occurred near the intersection of 84 and Eucutta road. The couple was driving west on the highway when the shooting happened.

Mosley said the couple was able to drive to South Central Medical Center. The extent of their injuries were not known as that information was not being released. The names of the victims are also not being released.

This newspaper has reached out to MBI officials but have not received a response.
