A Celebration of Life ceremony will be conducted at a later date for

Samantha (Bond) McCowan, 32, of Laurel.

Born in Hattiesburg on Sunday, Dec. 22, 1991 to Toney Glyn Bond and

Patricia Ann Bond, she was a Christian. She worked as a Bookkeeper with

Flynt's Towing & Recovery/Flynt's Diesel Automotive.

She died on Saturday, June 8, 2024 in Laurel.

She is survived by her parents, Toney Glyn Bond and Patricia Ann Bond of

Waynesboro; her forever partner, Christopher Michael Ingram of Laurel;

four sons, Wyatt McCowan, Atlar Bond, Cadence Justice "C.J." Ingram and

Benjamin Bond; her daughter, Alyia Faith Ingram; three sisters, Melissa

(Bond) Lenart of Farson, Wyo., Julie Thumser of Oklahoma City, Okla.,

and Olivia Cannon of Waynesboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts,

uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Merlin and Mae

Ollie Bond; and her maternal grandparents, Larry and Mary Betty Deemy.

She will be forever loved and missed, and her memories will always be in

the hearts of her family and friends.

Funeral services for Yvonne Rankin, 70, of Waynesboro, will be at 2 p.m.

on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from Magnolia Baptist Church. Visitation will

be from 12-7 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024 from the Chapel of Turner

Funeral Home.

Following the funeral service, interment will take place at the church

cemetery.

Born on Jan. 24, 1954, she was a Caregiver.

She died on Friday, May 30, 2024 at Franklin County Memorial Hospital in

Meadville.

She is survived by her brothers, Glenn and Blain Rankin; and three

sisters and a brother-in-law, Joyce Rankin, Gaye and Arthur Blakely and

Swanzetta Rankin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

Aug. 7, 1941-June 10, 2024

Funeral services for Forrest A. Bonner, 82, of Clara, will be at 2 p.m.

on Friday, June 14, 2024 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home, with

Rev. Bo Bankston and Rev. Paul Harris officiating. Visitation will take

place from 12-2 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024 from the Parlor of Freeman

Funeral Home.

Following the funeral service, interment will take place at White House

Cemetery.

Born in Buckatunna on Thursday, Aug. 7, 1941 to the late Arthur Roshae

and Pearlie (Guy) Bonner, he was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist

Church, serving in numerous roles. He retired as a Toolpusher with

ODECO.

After retiring, he became a Bus Driver for the Wayne County School

District, working in Clara. He will always be remembered by his family

as a loving and devoted husband, daddy and pawpaw.

He died on Monday, June 10, 2024 at Greene Rural Nursing Home in

Leakesville.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Bonnie Louise Bonner of

Clara; his sons and daughters-in-law, Shannon and Bettina Bonner and

Sheldon and Nickley Bonner, all of Clara; his daughter and son-in-law,

Sherry and C.A. Cook of Clara; nine grandchildren and their respective

spouses, Shandi and Jeff Bradley of Millry, Ala., Lindsay and Michael

Gardner of Buckatunna, Savannah Bonner of Clara, Brittany Frasier of

Waynesboro, Taylor and Brendie Bonner of Buckatunna, Darron Cook of

Clara, Shara and Joseph Beasley of Sand Hill, Mandy and Adam Reeves of

Clara and Catlin and Brooke Duvall of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two

step-grandchildren and their respective spouse, Kayla Henderson and

Caleb and Nichole Henderson, all of Clara; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Roshae and Pearlie (Guy)

Bonner; a daughter, Stacey Julie (Bonner) Henderson; two brothers,

Melvin R. Bonner and Nolan A. Bonner; and four sisters, Mildred Jones,

Quida Mae Holifield, Eunita Holley and Dot Burford.

Funeral services for Shirley Ann Heap, 88, of Waynesboro, will be at 2

p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home,

with Rev. Tim Martin and Rev. Mark Robinson officiating. Visitation will

be from 12-2 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from the Parlor of Freeman

Funeral Home.

Cemetery.

Born in Montgomery, La., on Friday, Sept. 27, 1935 to the late David

Owen and Lola Mae (Moore) Mitchell, she was a member of Calvary Baptist

Church. She retired as a Cafeteria Worker with the Wayne County School

District.

She died on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at Southern Living Specialty Care

Residency in Waynesboro.

She is survived by her two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronnie Martin of

Mobile, Ala., and Tim and Anna Martin of Buckatunna; two stepsons and

their spouses, Don and Annie Heap of Shubuta and Joe and Kathy Heap of

Huntington Beach, Calif.; two stepdaughters and their spouses, Perian

and Paul Eric Lund of Odense, Denmark and Chellie and Mark Robinson of

Ben Wheeler, Texas; her daughter-in-law and her spouse, Missy and Sean

Dunlap of Waynesboro; her brother-in-law and his spouse, Ralph and Nelda

Martin of Odenville, Ala.; her sister-in-law, Janet Crow of Louisville,

Ken.; six grandchildren and their respective spouses, Ronald Glenn and

Holli Martin, April and Josh Morris, Cody and Amanda Martin, Jonathan

and Logan Martin, Jacob and Dani Martin and Jordan Martin; seven

step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and

nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Rev. Harlis G. Martin;

her second husband, Dawan Everett Heap; her parents, David Owen and Lola

Mae (Moore) Mitchell; her son, Gary Martin, two brothers, Billy Mitchell

and Ray Mitchell; and two sisters, Kathriene Nix and Loriene Rice.

SHIRLEY RUSSELL HENDERSON

March 28, 1933-June 5, 2024

A memorial service for Shirley Russell Henderson, 91, of Waynesboro,

were conducted on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from the Chapel of Freeman

Funeral Home, with Dr. Steve Smith officiating.

Interment followed at Waynesboro Cemetery.

Born in Holly Springs on March, 28, 1933, she was adopted into the

loving home of Mamie and Clyde Russell. She married the love of her

life, Jerry Henderson, and they had two children, Pam and Rusty.

She was a breeder and exhibitor of show dogs with her son. She had a

lovely voice and gave many vocal solos. She loved her church, her

family, Christmas, dogs and singing. A long-standing member of First

Baptist Church of Waynesboro, after her husband died she was blessed to

be offered the position of the Kindergarten and Day Care there, which

she accepted and enjoyed for several years.

She taught for many, many years in Preschool Sunday School and was also

the Director of Preschool Sunday School. She was affectionately called

"Miss Shirley," a title she adored. She loved her Lord and Savior

and often spoke of His goodness towards her. One of her last quotes was

"God is go good to me. He's been good to me for so long."

She died on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Brookwood Villa Personal Care

Home, where she received wonderful care. It was her home away from home

for many years.

She is survived by her daughter, Pam Hicks of Pooler, Ga.; her grandsons

and their respective spouses, George and Shannon Hicks of Pooler,

Russell Henderson of Millry, Ala., Clark Henderson of Niceville, Fla.,

Jerry and Jennipher Hicks of Indianapolis, Ind., and Micah Hicks of

Huntington Beach, Calif.; her granddaughter and spouse, Christal and

Tony Nguyen of Pensacola, Fla.' her great-grandsons and

great-granddaughters and their respective spouses, Garrett and Erica

Henderson, Hannah Henderson, Dalten Henderson, Sydney Nguyen, Noah

Nguyen, Sophie Henderson, Wyatt Henderson, Olivia Henderson, Izzy Smith

and Jordyn Hicks; and her great-great-grandson, Swade Henderson.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Russell; her mother,

Mamie Russell; her husband, Jerry Henderson; her son, Rusty Henderson;

and her brothers, Sonny Whittington and Bobby Bond.

Pallbearers were Brother Wayne Meeks, Sharpie Smith, Jerry Mosley, Ricky

Dabbs, John Mark Clark and Don Williams.

Funeral services for Ruby Pearl Creagh, 96, of Meridian, were conducted

on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from Wesley Chapel Methodist Church in

Meridian.

Interment followed at Waynesboro Cemetery.

Born on Aug. 27, 1927, she was a retired Nurse, and a member of both the

Dayton Black Nurses Association and National Association of University

Women.

She died on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at her residence.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Cecile; her

stepsons, Donald Creagh and Curtis Creagh; her stepdaughters, Gail,

Beverly and Wanda Creagh; her brother and sister-in-law, George R. and

Teresa of Waynesboro; her sister, Willie E. McCullough of Silver

Springs, Md.; a grandchild and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers, a sister and

her parents.

Funeral services for James W. Odom, 84, of Waynesboro, were conducted on

Monday, June 10, 2024 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home, with Dr.

Born in Millry, Ala., on Friday, Aug. 25, 1939 to the late Herman W. and

Julia Ann Odom, he served in the United States Army. He was a member of

Waynesboro First Methodist Church and retired as a Manager with Blossman

Gas Company in Waynesboro.

He died on Friday, June 7, 2024 at Wayne General Hospital.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Nikki Odom of

Waynesboro and Scott and Shannon Odom of Ellisville; his sister and

brother-in-law, Virginia Odom and Thomas Toney of Batesville; five

grandchildren, Parker Alexis Odom, Heidi Elizabeth Odom, Alex Scott

Odom, Kambree Nicole Odom and Landree Christoper Odom, all of

Waynesboro; two sisters-in-law and their respective spouses, Vickie Odom

of Waynesboro and Bea and Eddie Giles of Gilbertown, Ala.; and a host of

nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Carol Odom; his father,

Herman W. Odom; his mother, Julia Ann Cartwright; his brother, Homer C.

Odom; his sister, Willie Lee Daniels; and his brother-in-law, Mack

Daniels.

Pallbearers were Ron Odom, Clay Giles, Mike Chappell, Ennis King, Randy

Toney and Scott Walters. Honorary pallbearers were Oliver Brown, Ben

Daws, Larry Gandy and Bill Baker.

Born on March 14, 1950, he was a retired Forklift Operator with Hood

Industries.

He is survived by his wife, Abbie Helen Taylor Hayes; his son, Jeremy

Hayes of Waynesboro; his daughters, Stacey Slater of Austell, Ga., and

Tamara Hayes of Birmingham, Ala.; her stepdaughter, Felicia Rankins of

Born on April 24, 1930, he was a retired Laborer with U.S. Steel. He

served his country as a U.S. Army Veteran during the Korean War.

He died on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at University Medical Center in

Jackson.

He is survived by his wife, Vera Gray McDonald; his sons and

daughter-in-law, James McDonald and Emmanuel and Tyra McDonald, all of

Illinois; his daughters, Jerry Scott of Illinois, Michelle Lattanzia of

Mississippi and Sebrina Dunston of California; his brother and

sister-in-law, Eddie C. and Dorothy McDonald; his sister, Margaret

Grohs; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
