JEANNE TATUM WEST
Oct. 2, 1959-June 2, 2024
Funeral services for Jeanne Tatum West, 64, of Waynesboro, were
conducted on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from Waynesboro Presbyterian
Church, with Rev. Danny Ketchum officiating.
Interment followed at Waynesboro Cemetery.
Born in Laurel on Friday, Oct. 2, 1959 to Grover C. Tatum, Jr., and
Lydia Tatum, she was a member of Waynesboro Presbyterian Church. She was
a School Teacher and worked for the Wayne County School District for 28
years before retiring.
She was a member of the Chickasawhay Chapter of the Daughters of the
American Revolution for 35 years and was also a Charter Member of the
Wayne County Junior Auxiliary.
She died on Sunday, June 2, 2024.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Marshall and Emily Wood
of Waynesboro; her granddaughter, Annie Ruth Wood of Waynesboro; three
brothers and sisters-in-law, Glenn and Glenda Tatum of Waynesboro, James
C. and Carolyn Tatum of Brandon and David H. and Ruth Tatum of Madison;
and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Susan McMillian of Waynesboro and
Barbara and Bennie Fleming of Carmichael.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gray West; her father, Grover
C. Tatum, Jr.; her mother, Lydia Tatum; and a brother, Grover C. Tatum.

MINERVA ROBINSON
Dec. 17, 1931-June 1, 2024
Funeral services for Minerva Robinson, 92, of Citronelle, Ala., were
conducted on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from Red Creek Church of God in
Wayne County, with Rev. Fred Wiley officiating.
Interment followed at Red Creek Cemetery in Wayne County.
Born in Washington County, Ala., on Thursday, Dec. 17, 1931 to the late
Nathan and Agnes Dearman, she was a member of Cedar Creek Holy Church of
God in Citronelle.
She died on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Crown Health & Rehab in
Citronelle.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Rebecca
Robinson of State Line; her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Wayne
Robinson of Citronelle; her brother, Ceborn Dearman of Waynesboro; her
sister, Versie Sullivan of Millry, Ala.; three grandchildren and their
respective spouses, Valerie and C.J. Ezell, Mariah Robinson and Jonathan
Robinson; and her great-granddaughter, Elisabeth Ezell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Robinson; her
parents, Nathan and Agnes Dearman; three brothers, Russell Dearman,
Julius Dearman and Stance Dearman; and four sisters, Elva Sturdivant,
Phyllis Wells, Elvis West and Mavis Cooley.

MARGIE L. BAYGENTS
Sept. 18, 1947-May 30, 2024
A memorial service for Margie L. Baygents, 76, of Waynesboro, was
conducted on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral
Home, with Rev. Norman Nowell officiating.
Born in Waynesboro on Thursday, Sept. 18, 1947 to the late Bodie
"B.J." and Maxine (Brewer) Baygents, she worked as a Crash
Investigator with US Airways.
She died on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at her residence.
She is survived by her companion, Tim Stark of Waynesboro; her son, Zack
Lancaster of Winston-Salem, N.C.; her brother and sister-in-law, Perry
and Tanya Walker Baygents of Waynesboro; her sister and brother-in-law,
Lynda L. and Bidmer R. Walker of Waynesboro; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bodie "B.J." and Maxine
(Brewer) Baygents; and her son, Jess Alexander Lancaster.

RODRICK LADALE "BOBO" LAFFITTE

Funeral services for Rodrick LaDale "BoBo" Laffitte, 46, of Laurel,
were conducted on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 in Millry, Ala., with Rev.
Claude Jordan officiating.
Interment followed at Payne & Hamilton Cemetery in Millry.
Born on Oct. 1, 1977, he worked in different factories.
He died on Monday, May 20, 2024 at Wayne General Hospital.
He is survived by the people he considered his sons, Calvin and
Kwetarive Adrister of Georgia; his mother, Juanita Whigham; six sisters,
Kirby Downs, Kemaro Powe, Kisha Bivens, Brendnesha Laffitte, Erica Loper
and Nicole Gandy; two nieces, Rhylan Miller and Brenleigh Powe; five
nephews, Jailin Powe, Kaleb Powe, Caden Bivens, Marquese Bivens and
Keshawn Bivens; a special cousin/brother, Tarus Whigham; and his
stepmother, Yvonne Laffitte.
He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents.

GAIL WEST LEVERETTE
Aug. 23, 1959-May 20, 2024
Funeral services for Gail West Leverette, 64, of Waynesboro, were
conducted on Saturday, May 25, 2024 from St. Luke Missionary Baptist
Church, with Rev. John Robinson officiating.
Interment followed at Waynesboro City Cemetery.
Born on Aug. 23, 1959, she died on Monday, May 20, 2024 at Forrest
General Hospital in Hattiesburg.
She is survived by her husband, Mitchell D. Leverette; her son and
daughter-in-law, Sedricko and LaSonya West; her daughter and son-in-law,
Ashlynn and Marcus Powe; her mother, Mary Lee West; her father, James
Williams; two sisters, Jo Anne West and Mae J. Everett; 15
grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a special niece and her
spouse, Kristen and Damon Gandy; two stepdaughters, Jamma Singleton and
Jessica Leverette; and stepson, Cortez Franks.
She was preceded in death two brothers, Lloyd Henry West and Ernest Lee
West; and a sister, Patricia West.
