Emergency Road and Bridge Repair Fund

Wayne County, Mississippi

The Wayne County Board of Supervisors will receive bids for the

construction of a Bridge Replacement Project over Buckatunna Creek on

Matherville-Frost Bridge Road, District Two, also known as Emergency

Road and Bridge Repair Fund Project No. ERBR-77(05). Proposals must be

submitted no later than 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024, at the

Board Room of the Wayne County Courthouse located at 609 Azalea Drive,

Waynesboro, Mississippi. All bids received will be publicly opened and

read aloud.

The work shall consist essentially of the following items: Construction

of 1 @ 40 LF, 2 @ 80 LF, 1 @ 110 LF, 1 @ 80 LF, 1 @ 40 LF Prestressed

Concrete Beam Span Bridge, 30deg Right Forward Skew, grade, drain, and

pave 0.165 miles of bridge approaches. The general outline of features

of the work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the

contractor to perform all work and furnish all plant, labor, equipment,

and materials required by the specifications and the drawings referred

to therein.

The Wayne County Board of Supervisors hereby notifies all Bidders that

it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant

to this advertisement, disadvantaged and women's business enterprises

will be afforded the full opportunity to submit bids in response to this

advertisement and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of

Each bid shall be accompanied by a Cashier's Check, Certified Check,

or Bid Bond issued by a Surety Company licensed to operate in the State

of Mississippi, in the amount of five (5%) of the total bid, payable to

Wayne County as bid security. The successful bidder will be required to

furnish a Contract Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of

the contract amount.

Basis of Award: The award, if made, will be to the lowest and best

qualified bidder. The Wayne County Board of Supervisors intends to

accept the lowest and best bid and reserves the right to reject any

and/or all bids. The total project contract time as advertised shall be

140 Working Days from the issuance of a notice to proceed.

Work to be performed shall be in accordance with Mississippi Standard

Specifications for State Aid Road and Bridge Construction, 2004 Edition,

together with all amendments and/or special provisions and/or addenda to

the standards dully approved and adopted, unless otherwise noted in

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

SMPDD Youth Program Payroll Services Provider

Program Year 2024

The Southern Mississippi Planning & Development District (SMPDD), as the

fiscal agent for the Twin Districts Workforce Development Area (TDWDA),

is advertising for payroll services for its SMPDD Youth Program that

will be funded through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act

(WIOA), or other federal and/or State funds. Eligible vendors must be

able to: pay assigned employees' wages, withhold and transmit payroll

taxes, provide unemployment insurance, workers compensation benefits,

and all required federal wage and hour financial obligations. The

proposed services will be provided to WIOA-eligible Youth participants

(which may be as young as 16 years old) who are referred by SMPDD Youth

Program staff. The participants served may be in any of the following

counties of Clarke, Covington, Forrest, George, Greene, Hancock,

Harrison, Jackson, Jasper, Jefferson Davis, Jones, Kemper, Lamar,

Lauderdale, Leake, Marion, Neshoba, Newton, Perry, Pearl River, Scott,

Smith, Stone and Wayne. This advertisement is conducted pursuant to the

requirements, conditions and the applicable regulations and policies of

the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, Mississippi Department of

Employment Security, and Twin Districts Workforce Development Area.

Copies of the Request for Proposals (RFP) will be available from

Southern Mississippi Planning & Development District, beginning May 22,

2024. Copies of the RFP can be obtained on or after this date by

downloading a copy of from the SMPDD website at

www.smpdd.com/rfp_publicnotice. Completed proposal packages should be

submitted to Southern Mississippi Planning & Development District, 10441

Corporate Dr., Ste. 1, Gulfport, MS 39503. Proposals may also be

submitted electronically via email to Grant Wesley at gwesley@smpdd.com.

Proposals are due no later than 10:00 a.m. CST June 5, 2024; proposals

received after this deadline will not be considered responsive to this

RFP. The initial contract awarded will be through June 30, 2025, with

the option to extend the contract annually up to three years with the

approval of both parties, dependent on funding.

Minority and Woman Owned Business Enterprises are solicited to submit

proposals on this project as prime contractors and are encouraged to

make inquiries regarding potential subcontracting opportunities,

equipment, material and/or supply needs.
