Funeral services for Garland "G.C." Cochran, Jr., 79, of Waynesboro, will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022 from Harvest Temple Church of God, with Rev. Floyd Mills and Rev. Edward Bean officiating. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022 from Harvest Temple Church of God.

Following the funeral service, interment will take place at White House Cemetery.

Born in Waynesboro on Sunday, Nov. 1, 1942 to Garland Cochran, Sr., and Rennie Mae Bunch Cochran, he was a member of Harvest Temple Church of God. He had worked as a Mechanic with Kimberly-Clark and served in the Mississippi National Guard.

He died on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Tammy Cochran of Waynesboro; his daughter and son-in-law, Candice and Ken Jones of Waynesboro; two sisters, Rhudean Freeman and Ruby Lama, both of Metairie, La.; and four grandchildren and their respective spouses, Jared and Dalyn Cochran, Ali Cochran and Parker Watson, Dawson Jones and Kenadi Jones, all of Waynesboro.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Cochran; his father, Garland Cochran, Sr.; his mother, Rennie Mae Cochran; his son-in-law, Brent Hutto; two brothers, O'Neal Cochran and Elvin Cochran; and a sister, Mildred Waites.
