DEBORAH ROSE HENDRY STRAUB

A private memorial service for Deborah Rose Hendry Straub, 63, will be
conducted in the future.
Born on Oct. 7, 1960 in Waynesboro to Robert F. and Sarah V. McLain
Hendry, she died on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023 at Prince William Hospital
in Manassas, Va.
She is survived by her daughter, Laura Straub of Williams, Ariz.; her
parents, also known as Bob and Tennie Hendry; two brothers and
sisters-in-law, Ronny and Sheila Hendry of Waynesboro and Patrick and
Tammy Hendry of Ovett; a sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Ron Irwin
of Cleveland, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews as well as
great-nieces and great-nephews.
VONNIE LEE STATEN
Jan. 17, 1945-Dec. 5, 2023
Funeral services for Vonnie Lee Staten, 78, of Waynesboro, were
conducted on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023 from Sweet Pilgrim Missionary
Baptist Church.
Interment followed at Serenity Garden Cemetery in Waynesboro.
Born on Jan. 17, 1945, she died on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023.
She is survived by her husband, R.P. Staten; her son, John Staten; her
sister, Rosie McDonald; and a grandchild, Kristen Lauren Staten.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Effie Turner; her father,
Collie McDonald; and two brothers, Jimmy and Willie C. McDonald.
McDonald and Sons Funeral Home of Waynesboro was in charge of
arrangements.
GWENDOLYN LEVERETTE
March 18, 1958-Dec. 1, 2023
Funeral services for Gwendolyn Leverette, 65, of Waynesboro, were
conducted on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023 with Pastor Cedric Smith
officiating.
Interment followed at Simpson Bend Cemetery.
Born on March 18, 1958, she worked for Odom Industries.
She died on Friday, Dec. 1, 2023 at Forrest General Hospital in
Hattiesburg.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Edward Eugene Leverette; her
son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Esher Leverette III of Waynesboro;
her daughter and son-in-law, Cassandra and Eric Shaw of Buckatunna;
three brothers, four sisters and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mary Helen Barlow, Edward
T. Powe and Rev. John Haley, Sr.; and her sister, Vinara Haley.
McDonald and Sons Funeral Home of Waynesboro was in charge of
arrangements.
ELDREDGE "RAY" REVETTE, Sr.
Jan. 25, 1937-Nov. 29, 2023
A memorial service for Eldredge "Ray" Revette, Sr., 86, was
conducted on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023 from Riverside Baptist Church in
Waynesboro, with visitation being from 10 a.m. until the time of the
service.
Born in Wayne County on Jan. 25, 1937, he died on Wednesday, Nov. 29,
2023, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 64 years, Betty Joyce
Revette of Waynesboro; his daughters and son-in-law, Donna and Victor
Chapman of Terry, Barbara Chapman and Susan Revette, all of Waynesboro;
his son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Mindy Revette, Jr., of Waynesboro;
his brothers and a sister-in-law, Raymond Revette and Clyde and Kitty
Revette of Buckatunna; his sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Willie
Bonner of Waynesboro; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and
numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Inez Revette; his
daughter, Sherry Revette; his grandsons, Michael Revette and Shannon
Chapman; and his brothers, Willie Revette and Harvey Revette.
