Funeral services for Jeanetta N. Brown, 61, of Laurel, will be at 10

a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023 from St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 8-10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023 from St.

Luke Missionary Baptist Church.

Following the funeral service, internment will take place at Hillcrest

Drive Cemetery.

She died on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2023 at South Central Regional Medicla

Center in Laurel.

Funeral services for Voncile V. Long, 82, of Waynesboro, will be at 11

a.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, 2023 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home,

with Rev. Tommy Davis officiating. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. on

Friday, Aug. 18, 2023 from the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home.

Following the funeral service, interment will take place at West Shady

Grove Cemetery in Wayne County.

Born in Waynesboro on Thursday, July 24, 1941 to the late Dewitt

Talmadge Long, Sr., and Verda Pitts Long, she was a member of Mt. Zion

Baptist Church. She retired from Blanket Repair with Sunbeam

Corporation.

She died on Monday, Aug. 14, 2023 at Pine View Health and Rehabilitation

in Waynesboro.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Roland Beck of

Clara; her grandson and his spouse, Shawn and Emily Beck of Clara; five

great-grandchildren, Jada Beck, Jaron Beck, AnneLeigh Beck, Chesly Beck

and Dallen Beck, all of Waynesboro; two sisters, Annie Griffith and

Geneva Kelley, both of Waynesboro; and her sister-in-law, Janet Long of

Waynesboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewitt Talmadge Long, Sr., and

Verda Pitts Long; three brothers, Leo Long, Talmadge Long, Jr., and

Albert Long; and four sisters, Mary Nell Prince, Pauline Foxworth,

Myrtle Holcomb and Mattie McIlwain.

Funeral services for Letha Bernice White, 81, were conducted on Sunday,

Aug. 13, 2023 from Laton Hill Baptist Church in Chatom, Ala., with Rev.

Don Whigham officiating.

Interment followed at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Millry, Ala.

Born in Millry on Monday, June 29, 1942 to E.J. Dixon and Connie Dixon,

she was a member of Laton Hill Baptist Church and was a Homemaker.

She died on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2023 at South Central Regional Medical

Center in Laurel.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles and Samantha

White of Greenwich, Ohio, and John White of Waynesboro; two daughters,

Cathy Chandler of Waynesboro and Marie White of Frankfort, Ken.; two

sisters, Sharon Cranford of Millry and Annette Griffin of Spanish Fort,

Ala.; 12 grandchildren, Kristy Crager, Robert Crager, Kevin Crager,

Gabriel Rumsey, Quentin Perry, Charles White, Jr., Gwendelyn White,

Tessa White, Tabitha White, Destiny Giles, Josh Giles and Jeremy Rice;

and three great-grandchildren, Levi Rumsey, Gus Rumsey and Jack Rumsey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. White; her father,

E.J. Dixon; her mother, Connie Dixon; a son, Jimmy White; her brother,

Jim Dixon; and a sister, Emma Clark.

BETTY JEAN LEMLEY BOOKER

Feb. 9, 1930-Aug. 9, 2023

Funeral services for Betty Jean Lemley Booker, 93, of Waynesboro, were

conducted on Friday, Aug. 11, 2023 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral

Home, with Rev. Paul Harris officiating.

Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Carrollton, Miss., with Rev.

Joseph Sansing officiating.

Born in Carrollton on Sunday, Feb. 9, 1930 to the late James Thomas

Lemley and Dollie Ann Turner Lemley, she worked for 25 years as a

Bookkeeper with Farmers Supply Co-Op in Greenwood and retired at 70

years of age. She and her husband, Ralph, then moved to Waynesboro to be

close to their daughter and grandchildren.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in both Greenwood and

Waynesboro.

She died on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2023 at Brookwood Villa Personal Care

Home in Waynesboro.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol Booker and Don

Law; two grandchildren and their spouses, Lane and Mary Law and Paige

Law and Samuel Freeman; and five great-grandchildren, Cade Law, Aiden

Law, Logan Law, Peyton Freeman and Lemley Freeman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Denver Ralph Booker; her

parents, James Thomas Lemley and Dollie Ann Turner Lemley; two brothers,

James Douglas Lemley and Buford L. Lemley; two sisters, Rebecca Jane

Lemley Browning and Sarah Elizabeth Lemley McQuiston; and a grandson,

Darrin Grant Law.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church of

Waynesboro or Greenwood. She always donated to French Camp or Baptist

Children's Village.
