CHARLIE LEE ARNOLD

A memorial service for Charlie Lee Arnold, 80, of Citronelle, Ala., will

be conducted by the family at a later time.

Born in Wayne County on Thursday, Aug. 6, 1942 to Roland and Reba M.

Arnold, he was a retired Boilermaker, Local 112.

He died on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at his residence.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Arnold; two daughters, Tonja Moss

and Dana Johnston; a son-in-law, Adam Dragna; a sister, Jeri Delmas;

seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roland Arnold; his mother, Reba

M. Arnold; his son, Cody Arnold; a brother, Eddy Arnold; and two

sisters, Linda Mears and Jo Busby.

Funeral services for Aline Becton, 89, of Millry, Ala., were conducted

on Monday, June 26, 2023 from Chapel Hill Baptist Church in Millry, with

Rev. Scott Giles, Rev. Mike Chatham and Rev. James West officiating.

Interment followed in Guy Cemetery in Millry.

Born in Washington County, Ala., on Friday, Nov. 17, 1933 to the late

Alvin and Lottie Mae Guy, she was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist

Church. She retired as a Glove Factory Worker with Wells Lamont.

She died on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at her residence, surrounded by her

loving family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Eugene Becton (who

died two days after her); her son and daughter-in-law, Mitchell "Mickey"

and Nancy Becton of Millry; two daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbie Nell

and Joe Taylor of Waynesboro and Gayle and Mark Harper of Quitman; three

brothers, Nelson Guy of Millry, Johnny Guy of Chatom, Ala., and Billy

Guy of Millry; her sister, Patsy Sullivan of Millry; 12 grandchildren,

26 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandhildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Lottie Mae Guy;

three brothers, Nolan Guy, Prentice Guy and Donald Guy; two sisters,

Pauline Burgess and Doris Odom; her grandson, Chad Conner; her

great-granddaughter, Arizona Holyfield; and a great-great-grandson,

Grayson Tate.

Pallbearers were Mitchell Becton, Steven Holyfield, Brooks Conner,

Dustin Dearmon, Tommy McIlwain, Ricky Sullivan, James H. West and Seth

Becton.

Funeral services for Eugene Becton, 93, of Millry, Ala., were conducted

on Monday, June 26, 2023 from Chapel Hill Baptist Church in Millry, with

Born in Washington County, Ala., on Friday, Oct. 25, 1929 to Emory

Becton and Lillie Mae Becton, he was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist

Church. He was retired as a Supervisor with Washington County, Ala.,

Road and Bridge.

He died on Monday, June 26, 2023 at his residence, surrounded by his

loving family.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mitchell "Mickey" and

Nancy Becton of Millry; two daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbie Nell and

Joe Taylor of Waynesboro and Gayle and Mark Harper of Quitman; a brother

and sister-in-law, Clatis and Sammie Kay Becton of Millry; two

sisters-in-law, Barbara Ann Becton and Jackie Becton; 12 grandchildren,

26 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving way of 71 years, Aline Becton;

his father, Emory Becton; his mother, Lillie Mae Becton; two brothers,

Jackie Becton and James Donald Becton; his grandson, Chad Conner; his

great-granddaughter, Arizona Holyfield; and his great-great-grandson,

Grayson Tate.

Funeral services for Carolyn Jean Sellers, 78, of Waynesboro, were

conducted on Friday, June 23, 2023 from Strengthford First Baptist

Church, with Rev. Bobby Boutwell and Rev. Ken Walters officiating.

Interment followed at Strengthford First Baptist Cemetery.

Born in Waynesboro on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 1944 to James W. Freeman, Sr.,

and Sara Francis Freeman, she was a member of Strengthford First Baptist

Church. She was a Homemaker.

She died on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Wayne General Hospital.

She is survived by her three sons and two daughters-in-law, James and

Angela Cochran, Steve Cochran and Joey and Jackie Sellers, all of

Waynesboro; two stepsons and their respective spouses, Johnny and Angie

Sellers of Waynesboro and Lynn and Amy Sellers of Hattiesburg; two

brothers and a sister-in-law, J.W. and Yvonne Freeman of Waynesboro and

Richard Freeman of Waynesboro; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Pat

Little of Waynesboro and Brenda and Travis Cochran of Corpus Christi,

Texas; her sister-in-law, Elizabeth Freeman of Waynesboro; seven

grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Sellers, Jr.; her

father, James W. Freeman, Sr.; her mother, Sara Francis Freeman; her

stepson, Jimmy Sellers; her brother, Charlie Freeman; her sister, Elaine

Jackson; and her daughter-in-law, Mollean Sellers Carter.

Pallbearers were Levi Cochran, Tyler Cochran, Daniel Dickerson, Dustin

Freeman, Mitchell Freeman and Tony Freeman.

Born on Dec. 26, 1931, she was a retired Nurse with Providence Hospital

and Cogburn Nursing Home, both in Mobile, Ala.

She died on Monday, June 19, 2023 at Pine View Health & Rehabilitation

Center in Waynesboro.

She is survived by her son, Joseph A. "Zekie" Benton; her daughter,

Judith Lindsey; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers,

two sisters, a son and two daughters.

Funeral services for Billy "The Kid" McGill, 64, of Waynesboro, were

Interment followed at Waynesboro Cemetery.

Born on March 9, 1959, he was a retiree with Wayne County Waste

Management.

He died on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Wayne General Hospital.

He is survived by five sons and four daughters-in-law, Christopher and

Antoinette Harris of Gulfport, Lewis Hayes, Shaun and Angie McGill,

Deonco and Alicia Arrington and Johnathan and Brianna McGill of

Waynesboro; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Douglas and Lisa McGill

and Tommy McGill of Waynesboro; a sister, Dorothy "Sally" Steale of

Waynesboro; 15 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
