Funeral services for Todd Wise, 58, of Waynesboro, were conducted on

Monday, Feb. 27, 2023 from Trinity Free Will Baptist Church, with Rev.

Jim Riley and Rev. Jarrod Vanderslice officiating.

Interment followed at Trinity Free Will Cemetery.

Born in Las Vegas, Nev., on Sunday, Jan. 31, 1965 to James G. Wise and

Mary Rebecca Wise, he was a member of Trinity Free Will Baptist Church.

He had worked as a Self-Employed Welder in the oil field industry.

He died on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023 at his residence, surrounded by his

loving family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Louise Wise of

Waynesboro; two sons, Hunter Wise and Seth Wise, both of Waynesboro; his

daughter, Pollyanna Wise of Waynesboro; two brothers and sisters-in-law,

Jason and Shawn Wise of Waynesboro and Kobi and Lisa Wise of Caldwell,

Ohio; his sister and brother-in-law, Dana and Don Nelson of Diamondhead;

and two grandsons, Remy Pitts and Jayden Hayes.

He was preceded in death by his father, James G. Wise; and his mother,

Mary Rebecca Wise.

LAVERNE BREWER

May 29, 1939-Feb. 23, 2023

Funeral services for Laverne Brewer, 83, of Waynesboro, were conducted

on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home, with

Rev. Floyd Mills and Rev. Jarrod Vanderslice officiating.

Interment followed in the J.B. Brewer Family Cemetery.

Born in Mobile, Ala., on Monday, May 29, 1939 to Harry Cochran and Ruby

Chapman Cochran, she attended Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church. She

was a Homemaker.

She died on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023 at Wayne General Hospital.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Christa

Brewer of Waynesboro; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Rita Brewer,

Grace and Danny Mills, Fay and Keith Wells and Dianne and David Mills,

all of Waynesboro; two sisters, Minnie Cochran Brewer and Christine

Cochran Brewer, both of Richton; eight grandchildren and their

respective spouses, Lara and Paul Newman, Chris and Chelsey Mills,

Stacey and Jake Reid, Nick and Chasity Mills, Brianna and Cody Smith,

Justin and Rachel Brewer, Natalie Brewer and Jalyn Brewer; and 11

great-grandchildren, Kaylee Newman, Jude Mills, Allie Mills, Lucas

Newman, Emmrie Waites, Annaleigh Smith, Bennett Smith, Jenson Brewer,

Adalynn Mills, Hadley Smith and Lilith Reid.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Brewer; her father, Harry

Cochran; her mother, Ruby Chapman Cochran; a son, Jimmie Dale Brewer;

four brothers, J.D. Cochran, Marvin Cochran, Harvey Cochran and William

Cochran; and a sister, Hazel Cochran Loper.

Pallbearers were Danny Mills, Chris Mills, Nick Mills, Justin Brewer,

Paul Newman, David Mills and Keith Mills.

Jan. 13, 1944-Feb. 23, 2023

David Eddie Newcomb, 79, of Shubuta, died on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023 at

his residence.

Born in Corinth on Thursday, Jan. 13, 1944 to J.E. Newcomb and Lena

Beatrice Newcomb, he was retired as a Supervisor for Shelby County.

He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Pearlie Belle Newcomb;

his son, David Allen Newcomb; his daughter, Laurie Kathleen Newcomb; his

stepson and his wife, Jan Keith and Bobbie Smith; his stepdaughter and

her spouse, Vicki Dianne and Chris Manning; two brothers and

sisters-in-law, Ron and Paula Newcomb and Billy and Patricia Newcomb;

two sisters and a brother-in-law, Cindy Smart and Katherine and Jackie

Beckman; and five grandchildren, Jacob Allen Newcomb, William Manning,

Ethan Manning, Thomas Smith and Talena Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.E. and Lena Beatrice Newcomb;

his brother, Kenneth G. Newcomb; his sister, Carol Lynn Newcomb; and his

sister-in-law, Frankie Newcomb.

VIRGINIA E. MILLS

March 21, 1937-Feb. 20, 2023

Funeral services for Virginia E. Mills, 85, of McKinney, Texas, were

conducted on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023 from Freedom Church in Carrollton,

Texas.

Born on March 21, 1937 to Earnest Brown Weaver and Eva (Smith) Weaver in

Waynesboro, she married Arthur L. Mills on Dec. 12, 1954 in Waynesboro.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister

and friend. She will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her.

She died on Feb. 20, 2023.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Arthur Mills of

McKinney; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Arthur Lonny Mills of McKinney

and Gary E. and Linda Mills of Littleton, Colo.; her daughter, Stephanie

Lee Gladney of McKinney; five grandchildren and their respective

spouses, Sarah M. and Frankie Montano of Littleton, Ashley and Nathan

Dame of Rockwall, Texas, Dianna and Wade Buchwald of East Aurora, N.Y.,

Holley and Kyle Massey of Prosper, Texas, and Emiley and Jonathan Welker

of Pearl; eight great-grandchildren, Makayla, Megan, Caleb, Cailey,

Grey, Silas, Indy and Irelynn "Iley;" and a host of loving family

and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Dan Weaver

and Ernest Weaver.
