Jones charged with murder in Tuesday homicide case

A local man is facing three charges — including one of first degree murder — after being arrested in relation to a Tuesday night homicide in Waynesboro.
According to Waynesboro Police Department Investigations Commander Lieutenant Don Hopkins, Chance Fabian Jones of Claiborne Jones Road in Waynesboro was taken into custody and had been charged with residential burglary, aggravated assault with a firearm and first degree murder. He is expected to make his initial appearance in Municipal Court on Thursday.
Joslin Q. Napier, 24, of William Drive, was found dead by officers at her residence around 11 p.m. Tuesday, Hopkins said.
Late Wednesday afternoon, Hopkins said Jones had been charged in teh case.
Hopkins said the incident appeared to be a domestic disturbance of some type but that he could not release details due to the nature of the investigation that was continuing.
