Funeral services for James Charles Gilmore, 75, of Shubuta, will be at 1
p.m. on Friday, Sept. 2, 2022 from Altair Missionary Baptist Church,
with Rev. Arthur Bartee officiating. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. on
Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022 from the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home.
Following the funeral service, interment will take place at the church
cemetery.
Born on Feb. 16, 1947, he was a forearm Machinist with Masonite
Corporation.
He died on Monday, Aug. 22, 2022 at Forrest General Hospital in
Hattiesburg.

Funeral services for Juanita Colleen "Cokey" Moore Dunigan, 34, of Beat
Four were conducted on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022 from Center Ridge Baptist
Church, with Rev. Michael Beasley officiating.
Interment followed at Center Ridge Cemetery.
Born on June 28, 1988 in Knoxville, Tenn., her hobbies included fishing
and socializing. She also loved to shop, especially at thrift stores and
Dirt Cheap.
She died on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022 in Waynesboro.
She is survived by her daughters, Jaden J. Dunigan, Hayden A. Dunigan
and Cameron Harley, all of the Horne Community; a special friend in
Rusty Williams of Beat Four; and a large extended family and numerous
friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Janice Darlene Teaster Moore;
her grandfather, Columbus Teaster; and her grandmother, Juanita Webb.
Serving as pallbearers were Josie Dunigan, Jack Teaster, Billy Jack
Teaster, Johnathan Teaster, Keith Teaster and Brig Adams. Honorary
pallbearers included Ben Perry, Jeremy Dunigan and Jamie Whatley.

Funeral services for James Earl "J.T." Thomas, 74, of Gilbertown, Ala.,
were conducted on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2022 from Mt. Mariah Baptist Church
in Melvin, Ala., with Rev. Harold Hayes officiating.
Interment followed at Kaiser Hill Cemetery in Melvin.
Born on Nov. 28, 1947, he was a former Equipment Operator with Choctaw
County, Ala., and Owner and Operator of JT's Club in Gilbertown.
He died on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical
Center in Meridian.
He is survived by his wife, Vernice Thomas; his son and daughter-in-law,
Ronny and Lawanda Thomas; his brother and sister-in-law, Claude and
Hazel Moore of Butler, Ala.; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Gladys
Foster of Toxey, Ala., Pearlie Jones of Detroit, Mich., and Rogennia and
Lee Roscoe of Toxey; a grandson, Xavier Thomas; and his mother, Jessie
Lee Moore Sledge.
He was preceded in death by his father, a sister, two brothers, an aunt,
a brother-in-law, and a sister-in-law.

MARGARET ANN "PENNY" ESKRIDGE

Funeral services for Margaret Ann "Penny" Eskridge, 77, of Buckatunna,
were conducted on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022 from Sweet Pilgrim Missionary
Baptist Church, with Rev. Timothy Stallworth officiating.
Interment followed at the church cemetery.
Born on Aug. 22, 1944, she was a forearm Certified Nurse's Aid and the
Church Treasurer, Sunday School Superintendent and Financial Secretary
at Lewis Chapel AME Church.
She died on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022 at Wayne General Hospital.
She is survived by five brothers and two sisters-in-law, Nathan and
Gloria Eskridge, Stance Eskridge, Rickey and Claudia Eskridge, Mickey
Eskridge and Christopher Eskridge; five sisters and three
brothers-in-law, Sylvia Patterson, Linda Taylor, Deborah and Ray White,
Sherry and Erven Davis and Sherry and Patrick Lindsey; and six
godchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four
sisters.
