INEZ BATES

Funeral services for Inez Bates, 92, of Laurel, were conducted on
Friday, Aug. 12, 2022 from the Chapel of Freeman Funerla Home, with Rev.
Doug Blackledge, Rev. Wayne Blackledge, Hilton Sullivan and Libby
Sullivan officiating.
Interment followed at Maynor Creek Cemetery.
Born in Simpson County on Monday, July 14, 1930 to William Andrew Atkins
and Katie Emma Atkins, she was a member of East Laurel Pentecostal
Church. She was a Homemaker.
She died on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022 at her residence.
She is survived by her four sons and three daughters-in-law, Everett and
Glenda Clark of Ashford, Ala., Paul Bates of Ellisville, Phillip and
Shannon Bates of Laurel and Matthew and Brandi Bates of Williston, N.D.;
three daughters and two sons-in-law, Deborah and Curt Cumberland of
Waynesboro, Sara and David Waller of Laurel and Connie Sue Clark of
North Carolina; 21 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, L.E. Clark; her second
husband, Arthur Bates; her father, William Andrew Atkins; her mother,
Katie Emma Atkins; three sons, Dennis Clark, Andy Clark and Ray Clark;
five brothers and four sisters.
Pallbearers were David Waller, Brendon Bennett, Logan Williams, Dokota
Beatty, Cameron Herrington, Jonathan Waller and Coby Bearry.

ELIJAH WARREN
Oct. 15, 1937-July 14, 2022
Funeral services for Elijah Warren, 84, were conducted on Tuesday, July
26, 2022 from the chapel of Travis Funeral Home in Riverdale, Ill., with
REv. Daniel Garrett officiating.
Born on Oct. 15, 1937 in Waynesboro to the late Ray and Leola Rich
Warren, Sr., he accepted Christ at an early age. He graduated from
Waynesboro Vocational HIgh School in 1959. He was united in marriage to
Dorothy Jean Curry Warren and together they raised five children. He
worked at U.S. Steel for 38 years.
He died on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Holy Cross Hospital.
He is survived by four sisters and a brother-in-law, Mae Retha Robinson,
Elua B. and Robert Moore, Flora Jean Arrington and Marvis McCann, all of
Waynesboro; two special friends, Benny McCann and Barbara Ross; a
goddaughter, Tiana Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,
neighbors and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jean Warren; five
children, Earline Manual, Larry Harriston, Mannie Harriston, Dwight and
Dwaine Harriston; his mother and father, Leola and Ray Warren, Sr.; and
three brothers, Louis Warren, Daniel Warren and Ray Warren.
Honorary pallbearers were Daryl Robinson, Keith Moore, Erick Moore,
Patrick McCann, Sidney Warren, Johnnie B. Robinson, Jr., Derek Moore,
Ricky Warren, James Warren, Lee Everett and Kenneth Williams.
Travis Funeral Home of Riverdale, Ill, was in charge of arrangements.
DEMEIRRCO SANCHEZ JIMERSON
Demeirrco Sanchez Jimerson, 31, of Meridian, were conducted from the
Chapel of McDonald and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Marvin Chapman
officiating.
Interment followed at New Pilgrim Baptist Church Cemetery.
Bonr on July 22, 1991, he was a Steel Worker with Giberson Steel.
He died on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022 at Rush Memorial Hospital in Meridian.
He is survived by his sons, Jeremy Yarbrough, Jayden Jimerson and Parker
Jimerson; his daughter, Jayla Jimerson; his mother, Rita Myles; his
father, Michael Jimerson; his siblings, Olivia, Myles, Michelle
Jimerson, Michael Jimeson, Marcus Jimerson and Ranada Jones; and Mary
Alice Myles and Warren Gene Myles.
He was preceded in death by Edna Jimerson, Sammie R. his uncle Gregory
Myles and Sammie E. Jimerson.
McDonald and Sons Funeral Home of Waynesboro was in charge of
arrangements.
