JANET JEAN OVERSTREET

A memorial service for Janet Jean Overstreet, 63, of State Line, will be from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022 from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Sand Hill.
Her final resting place will be in Pine Crest Cemetery in Jackson, Ala.
Born on Monday, Feb. 2, 1959 in Jackson, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. The simplest pleasures in life brought her the greatest joy.
She has an uncanny ability to find happiness in all situations. Her pleasant, sweet personality was contagious to everyone she met. She was a dedicated servant of our Lord, Jesus Christ and enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, tending to the farm, spending time with family and friends and enjoyed the companionship of her precious animal companion, "Little Bit."
She died on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2022 at The Mobile Infirmary Medical Center in Mobile, Ala., due to complications that resulted from COVID-19. She was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy.
She is survived by two daughters, a son-in-law and a daughter-in-law, Janaka Darrell Williams, Jennifer Natosha and Myrian Carvalho Williams and Darrell Heath Williams; former spouse Warren Henderson; her father and his spouse, Benjamin Franklin and Lunday Overstreet; her siblings and their spouses, Benny Ray Overstreet, Juanita Maria Overstreet Allen, Paul Lynette Overstreet and Michael Ivey and Jeffrey Paul Overstreet; her grandchildren, Hayden Michial West and Abigail Rose Williams; a special cousin in Brenda Elaine Huckabee; seven nieces and nephews; 16 great-nieces and great-nephews and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sally Geneva Coxwell Overstreet; a former spouse, Darrell Williams; a grandson, Daryl Cade Crager; her maternal grandparents, Steven Thomas Coxwell and Ollie Web Coxwell; and her paternal grandparents, Connie Mitchell Overstreet and Ruth Estelle Webb Overstreet.
MARTHA HENDERSON BOWEN
Sept. 25, 1934-Feb. 16, 2022
Funeral services for Martha Henderson Bowen, 87, of Waynesboro, were conducted on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home, with Dr. Steven Bruns, Dr. DeJuan Walley and Rev. Paul Harris officiating.
Interment followed at Waynesboro Cemetery.
Born on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 1934 to Nealy Dewitt Henderson and Ethel Mae Henderson in Choctaw County near Ackerman, she fell in love and married Robert Earl Bowen from Eupora when he returned from his military duties in the United States Navy during the Korean War. She worked at Wells-Lamong Corporation in both Hugo, Okla., and Waynesboro, putting in 25 years of service.
Working in the yard, playing golf, being a homemaker and especially cooking where her top priorities besides her family. She attended First United Methodist Church of Waynesboro and loved God, family and community.
She died on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2022 at Brookwood Villa in Waynesboro, surrounded by family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Terry Heathcock of Waynesboro; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Melissa Bown and Dale and Sheri Bowen, all of Waynesboro; six grandchildren and their respective spouses, Clint and Karley Heathcock and Colby and Kelly Heathcock, all of Hattiesburg, Penni and Devin Cooper of Brandon, Betsy and Jeremy Hudson of Madison, Jenci and Gordon Baygens of Waynesboro and Lexi and Chase Taylor of Starkville; and 13 great-grandchildren, Bowen Hudson, Bayley Hudson, Beau Cooper, Sadie Cooper, Rhett Cooper, Caroline Heathcock, Gracie Heathcock, Hayes Heathcock, Cannon Baygents, Clayton Baygents, Brew Baygents, Willow Taylor and Wyatt Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Robert E. Bowen; her parents, Neal D. Henderson and Mae Peeples Henderson; and two brothers, Albert Hugh Henderson and William Abner Henderson.

ELMER LOPER

Graveside services for Elmer Loper, 67, of Waynesboro, were conducted on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022 from Waynesboro City Cemetery, with Pastor Laude Jordan officiating.
Born on Feb. 1, 1955, he was a Grocery Stocker with Sunflower Grocery and Ramey's Supervalue.
He died on Friday, Feb. 11, 2022 at Wayne General Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; his son, Phillip Loper; two daughters, Tammy Loper Anthony and Tiffany Loper; a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Joe Lee; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, John and Betty Loper, Willie Loper and Bobby Charles and Willie Mae Loper; five grandchildren, Jaden Loper, Cameron Loper, Breanna Loper, Bella Anthony and Bailee Anthony; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and friends.
McDonald and Sons Funeral Home of Waynesboro was in charge of arrangements.
