Jaguars improve to 2-0 on year
Wayne Academy ran its record to 2-0 on the year with a hard-fought 42-33 win over Richton Friday night.
W.A. now prepares for its district opener on the road next week against Amite School.
The Jaguars scored 14 points in the first quarter, 14 more in the second and quarter and then added single touchdowns in both the third and fourth quarters to come away with the victory. Richton scored 21 points in the second quarter and then scored six points in each of the final two quarters.

War Eagles fall in season opener
The Lions of Williams proved to be stout as the team from Mobile, Ala., rolled to a 44-6 win over the War Eagles of WCHS Friday night.
The loss drops WCHS to 0-1 on the year heading into next week's home game against Morton.
The Lions scored 30 unanswered points before Robert Hill recovered a fumble in the end zone in the third quarter. Williamson then scored a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter to close things out.
