RICHARD BASS

A private memorial service for Richard Bass, 70, of Waynesboro will be

conducted at a later date.

He died on Friday, Sept. 15, 2023.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Janice Bass of waynesboro; two

sons and daughters-in-law, Shayne and Michelle Walker of Petal and Heath

and Wendy Bass of Tioga, La.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lynne and

Shane Massey of Jonesville, La., and Brandy Tripp of Louisiana; three

brothers, Leland, Wayne and Kenny Bass; nine grandchildren, Boston

Walker, Kadance Sanson, Evan Norris, Whitney Bass, Logan Bass, Emma

Bass, Ethan Coleman, Madison Coleman and Landon Coleman; and seven

great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Barbara Bass; a

daughter, Stacey Jo Walker; and three sisters, Carolyn Cornwell, Susie

Green and Cherie Wilson.

Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home of Hattiesburg is in charge of

arrangements.

Funeral services for Keith Lavelle Mayfield, 52, were conducted on

Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023 from St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church.

Interment followed at Pine Grove Cemetery.

Born on Feb. 15, 1971 in Waynesboro to Mildred Mayfield and the late

Eddie Mayfield, he was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. He

graduated from Waynesboro Central HIgh School and graduated from Jones

County Junior College with an Associate's degree in Welding. He was

employed with Howard Industries for 25 years until his health began

declining.

He loved spending time with family and friends, watching sports,

fishing, welding, gardening and grilling.

He died on Monday, Sept. 4, 2023 at South Central Regional Medical

Center in Laurel.

He is survived by his daughter, Ermasya Rankin-Mayfield; his son, Cortez

McDougle of Waynesboro; his mother, Mildred Mayfield of Waynesboro; his

brother, Larry Powe of Waynesboro; two sisters, Vertesha Mayfield fo

Waynesboro and Doris Jones of Sandusky, Ohio; two uncles and their

respective spouses, Andrew "Sam" and Flora Wilson of Picayune and

Charles Wilson of Cleveland, Ohio; his aunts and their respective

spouses, Diane and Charles Franks, Annette Mayfield, Dorothy Wilson, all

of Waynesboro and Ruby and Horace Turner of Silas, Ala.; his grandson,

Khari Rankin-Pruitt; his nieces and their respective spouses, Demitra

and Johnston Jones of Atlanta, Ga., Larisha Powe of Shubuta and Natasha

Jones of Summerville, S.C.; his nephews and their respective spouses,

Jamoni Mayfield, Teshaun Powe and Robert and Mitzi Taylor of Waynesboro

and Javon Powe of Hattiesburg; 10 great-nephews, six great-nieces,

special friends Tyrone Marshall and Bourbon Womack and a host of

extended family, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Mayfield; his sister,

Belinda Mayfield; his grandparents, Manuel and Gracie Mayfield and James

and Annie Wilson; five aunts, Alice Gray, Mae Helen Mayfield, Gracie Mae

Mayfield, Diane Chambers and Ruthie Mayfield; and seven uncles, Calvin

Wilson, Ulysee Wilson, James Wilson, Jr., Preston Wilson, Herbert

Wilson, Melvin Mayfield and Rooy Mayfield.

McDonald and Sons Funeral Home of Waynesboro was in charge of

arrangements.
