Funeral services for Karen Wells, 73, of Waynesboro, were conducted on

Sunday, Sept. 3, 2023 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home, with Rev.

Phillip Gandy and Rev. Philip Rogers officiating.

Interment followed at Boyles Chapel Cemetery in Waynesboro.

Born in Waynesboro on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 1949 to the late Turner and Rush

Pippen, she was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

She died on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023 at South Central Regional Medical

Center in Laurel, surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her son, Tony Dunn of Waynesboro; two brothers,

Robert Pippen of Laurel and Alton Pippen of Waynesboro; two sisters and

brothers-in-law, Mildred and Ed Harrison of Waynesboro and Charlene and

Randy Clark of Laurel; two granddaughters and their respective spouses,

Allyson and Colby Cooley and Lauren Dunn and Jacob Russell, all of

Petal; three great-grandchildren, Charlie Kate Cooley, Beck Cooley and

Theo Russell; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Arnold and Bill Wells;

her parents, Turner and Ruth Pippen; and three brothers, Dale Pippen,

Lewis Pippen and Archie Pippen.
